While regulatory compliance is our #1 goal, we also strive to make sure your booklet is aesthetically pleasing and matches your branding guide. This helps to differentiate you from other agencies and showcase your identity.
Our graphics department kindly answered a few of the most common questions we receive from our clients.
When it comes to logos, why are vector files (.ai or .eps) the preferred file type?
“Vector files are the gold standard for logos because they are scalable. Vector files can be resized up and down without losing any resolution or quality, so they will always print clearly. Vectors are also editable, so it’s possible to change a color or move components.”
When it comes to cover photos, what types of files do clients need to send over and why?
“For photographs, jpeg/jpg files are preferred. We are looking for high-resolution images to ensure high-quality printing.”
Can clients design their own covers?
“Absolutely!”
What do you recommend when it comes to clients designing their
own covers?
“Something to consider beyond your own branding identity of course, is what information to include on your covers. For example, our templates include important phone numbers on the back cover to provide easy access for patients.”
Do you have a preference when it comes to the file types of cover files?
“We would ideally receive a print-ready PDF file from you. Our dimensions are 8.5” x 11″, if you would like your cover to have a bleed, we use bleed dimensions 8.75” x 11.25”.”
What do you feel that our clients need to know about the graphics department?
“We are here to help you! If you are unsure something will work, we are always here to double-check something for you or answer questions. We want your branding to shine and are always willing to work with you until you are proud of your booklet, cover to cover.”
