EMERGENCY KIT FOR THE HOME

               Bad weather can be dangerous, so be prepared. Keep a kit with these items
               in case you have a weather emergency:
                 Battery-powered radio                    •  Medications
                 Lamps and flashlights                    •  Extra blankets
                 Extra batteries                          •  Water in clean milk or soda bottles
                 Food that you don’t have to cook •  Rock salt or sand for walkways
                 Manual can opener                        •  Extra fuel
                 Utensils, cups and plates                •  Portable battery pack for cell phone

               SHELTER SUPPLIES

               The following is a list of what to bring to a shelter during an evacuation:
                 Two-week supply of medications •  Lightweight folding chair
                 Medical supplies and oxygen              •  Extra clothing, hygiene items, glasses
                 Wheelchair, walker, cane, etc. •  Important papers
                 Special dietary foods/can opener •  Valid ID with current name and address
                 Air mattress/cot and bedding             •  Home health folder

               Most shelters have electric power from a generator. If you evacuate to a shelter,
               bring your electrical devices (such as an oxygen concentrator).

               Note: Pets are not usually allowed in shelters.
